Booking a seat runs through the same page and the same $500 deposit as any Alta Jets charter, and that deposit comes back in full inside 48 hours, or if we miss your budget, or if we cannot get the class of aircraft you selected, or if the seats never fill. The last seat has to be booked at least seven days before departure, which is the closing date on each card. If the lead passenger later opens more seats, the price per seat drops and the difference is credited back evenly to everyone already on board. Prices shown are pre tax and are confirmed in your Detailed Estimate Report before anything is signed.

Questions
How sharing a private jet actually works
Can you really share a private jet with another family?
Yes, and it is the oldest arrangement in private aviation. One group charters one aircraft and the people in that group split the cost of it. It does not have to be families. A couple, two friends and a solo traveler heading to the same place on the same day works exactly the same way. Alta Jets sources the aircraft, negotiates the price and manages the trip. The booking is held by the group, not sold seat by seat to the public, which is what keeps it a private charter rather than an airline service.
How does splitting the cost of a private jet work?
A charter is priced for the aircraft, not per passenger, so the whole cost is fixed whether one person flies or ten. You decide how many seats to share, and the seat price is that fixed cost divided by your number. Orange County to Las Vegas at five seats runs $1,500 to $3,000 a seat. Los Angeles to Maui on a Gulfstream G650 is $50,000 to $60,000 for the aircraft, so ten seats on a sixteen seat cabin puts everyone near $5,000 with room to spare.
How do I actually book a seat?
The same way you book any Alta Jets flight. You go through our normal booking page, put down the same $500 deposit, and receive a Detailed Estimate Report for that trip within about an hour. The only difference from chartering a whole aircraft is that the report prices your seat rather than the aircraft, because the route, the date and the cabin were already settled by the lead passenger. The deposit is refundable in full inside 48 hours, and it applies toward your seat once you sign a formal quote.
What does the lead passenger get out of organizing?
$1,000 off their own seats when the trip books. The lead passenger is the one who reads the report, picks the aircraft and decides how many seats to share, and that work is what makes the trip exist for everybody else. The credit is applied at the formal quote, on top of the $500 deposit already going toward the trip. One credit per trip, capped at the value of a single seat, and paid only when the aircraft is actually booked.
Do we have to fill every seat?
You decide how many seats you are sharing, and then yes, that number has to fill. Half the cabin, two thirds, all of it, or none of it at all. Fewer seats shared means a higher price each and a quieter cabin, more seats means everybody pays less. Whatever number you choose is the number we have to hit, and if we miss it your deposit comes back in full and the trip simply does not go.
What happens if the flight does not fill?
Your deposit comes back in full. Every trip carries a closing date, and if the seats are not booked by then the trip does not go. Most groups in that spot simply drop to a smaller aircraft class, which we price for you at the same time.
Are you selling individual seats?
No. We arrange one aircraft for one group and the group settles the cost among themselves. The board on this page exists so people heading to the same place on the same day can find each other and travel as one party. Every passenger is part of that group, books through the same channel as any other Alta Jets client, and travels on a single charter booking.
How many people fit on each class of jet?
Turboprops and light jets carry six to eight, super light and midsize cabins carry seven to nine, super midsize and wide body super midsize carry eight to ten, and heavy and ultra long range cabins carry twelve to sixteen. Seat count on any given aircraft depends on its interior configuration, which we confirm in your report before you commit.
What is a Detailed Estimate Report?
It is a document unique to Alta Jets. For $500 you get a live read of what is actually available for your trip, priced across every class that fits your group, with cabin dimensions, year of make, refurbishment ranges, operator safety standing, insurance and photographs of the aircraft themselves. You see everything before you commit to anything. It arrives in about an hour, and the $500 applies toward your trip once you sign a formal quote. It comes back in full if you say no inside 48 hours, if the formal quotes do not match the price point or class of aircraft in the report, or if the seats never fill.
How far ahead should we propose a flight?
Two weeks is the minimum and a month is the number we would actually give you. That gives the board time to fill and still leaves room to price the aircraft well rather than pay a rush premium. Holiday weeks into Aspen, Sun Valley and Cabo want more like three months, because the aircraft themselves go before the seats do.
When does the last seat have to be claimed?
At least seven days before departure, and five at the absolute latest. That window is what lets us hold the aircraft, get every quote signed and brief the crew. Past the closing date the trip closes and anything unclaimed is refunded.
What is a one way zero cancellation quote?
Once the last seat is claimed, every passenger receives the same formal quote for the one way, and signing it commits the group. That commitment is exactly what lets us hold the aircraft at the price in your report instead of going back out to bid. Nobody is asked to sign until every seat is spoken for, so you are never locked into a trip that has not come together.
Can we bring children, car seats, pets and ski bags?
Yes to all of it, and this is where sharing beats an airline outright. Tell us the load when you propose the trip so we size the aircraft correctly. Baggage volume and pet policy vary by operator and both are confirmed in your report.
