Alta Jets is a private jet charter brokerage headquartered in Newport Beach. We have clients all over the world, Europe, the East Coast, plenty in Los Angeles, but flying our Orange County neighbors is what we take the most pride in.

About us

Our owner was born and raised locally and went to the University of California, Irvine. He’s a helicopter pilot and has been in aviation for about a decade. We’re a small team on purpose, it keeps the owner involved in every trip, and taking care of clients is the part of this business we actually love.

How booking works

Place a $500 deposit and we send you a Detailed Estimate Report: full visibility into the charter market for your trip, upfront. Instead of standing by quote after quote, you see estimated price ranges for each class of aircraft, from empty-leg and one-way rates up to standard rates. If we land you an empty leg, your price falls toward the entry of that range.

Once you have the report, you have 48 hours to decline for a full refund. Continue to formal quotes and the $500 is credited toward your trip. Curious what trips run? See our sample pricing guide.

Our deposit program

If you fly regularly, our deposit program is the simplest way to work with us: place a deposit and we draw it down trip by trip.

  • Empty leg deals, when a discounted empty leg fits your plans, it’s yours.
  • Same-day flying, with funds on file, booking same-day is possible.
  • Jump classes of aircraft, a light jet one day, a super-mid the next. You’re never locked into one aircraft type or hourly rate.
  • Dynamic pricing on every trip, we shop each charter to the operators actually in position for it.

More than charter

Charter is the core of what we do, but we also work as an aircraft adviser, including aircraft sales, and helping you find the right management company, whether you already have one or you’re starting from scratch.

Know someone who flies private?

Even if you’re not booking today, referrals are how we grow. Refer someone who flies privately and we’ll give you a referral fee or set aside credit toward your own future trip.

Flying private from Newport Beach

Newport Beach sits minutes from John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana, the closest private-jet airport to the harbor and an easy drive from Newport Coast, Corona del Mar, Balboa Island and Lido Isle. Private flights use SNA’s dedicated FBOs (the private terminals where you park, walk a few steps and board), including ACI Jet, Atlantic Aviation, and Clay Lacy Aviation’s Orange County facility. We’ll recommend the one that fits your routing and arrange catering, ground transportation and hangar needs.

A local detail worth planning around: John Wayne enforces one of the strictest nighttime noise curfews in the country, so late departures and early-morning arrivals are limited. Because we’re based here and fly out of SNA ourselves, we build your schedule around it. When a trip calls for it, we can also position out of Long Beach (LGB), Los Angeles (LAX) or Van Nuys (VNY).

Choosing the right aircraft

Part of our job is sizing the aircraft to the mission, never over- or under-selling the trip.

  • Light jets (Citation CJ3, Phenom 300): up to about six passengers, ideal for regional hops like Las Vegas, Aspen, Cabo and the Bay Area.
  • Midsize & super-midsize jets (Citation XLS, Challenger 350, Citation X): roughly seven to nine passengers with the range for transcontinental runs to New York or Miami.
  • Heavy & ultra-long-range jets (Gulfstream G650, Global 7500): twelve to sixteen passengers and the legs for nonstop flights to Hawaii, Europe and beyond.
